I am devoted to many artisan families and share their passion for beauty. Their passion became mine as well. They inspired me so much that I had to leave every corporate job and just devote myself to help them bring their products to markets, to the right markets.
A life devoted to the legendary hat
Dozens of beautiful hands, the best hands, are continuously commissioned by The Hattitude to produce pieces of supreme fineness. Their ancient tradition is in danger of disappearing due to the extraordinary effort involved in each piece and the competition of massly-made fast hats that seek and economic goal. The philosophy of Montecristi is create beauty regardless of the time it takes to complete a hat. Their work used to get stuck in shelves for months, sometimes years. Their treasures deserved to be well remunerated and brought to the attention of people that appreciate art.
Diversity
Did you know that most of the weavers are women? and did you know they work at dawn before their families wake up because they cannot weave when there is sunlight?. I felt the responsibility to secure them a sustainable source of income to try to contribute to the survival of the legendary Montecristi hat and the culture these women keep alive. Each hat has a name, a face, a DNA that is shared with the buying party. These are not anonymous art pieces. They are a soul. I wake up every morning dreaming of bringing these women joy and income and making a positive impact in their lives.
